As a psychologist who has worked in a inpatient mental health facility, this book is an invaluble resource for the practioner in the Healing Arts. This book is well written, easy to read and understand with great information. It has enough medical information to assist the non-medical person in understanding how the medications work. There is also some good information for the mental health clinician to utilize on each of the disorders covered. This is a must have book for anyone's library!By Robert H. Mead
As a primary care practitioner I see a great deal of mental illness and always struggled with this until recently -- when I read this book. It's well written, pracitical and exactly what primary care practitioners need to effectively treat psychiatric illness. You can tell this book was written by primary care practitioners who also happen to be psychiatrists. It's not a book written by psychiatrists for primary care practitioners, but instead it is written by people who seem to truly understand what the primary care setting is all about. I imagine this book would also be a nice overview for mental health practitioners. It's a MUST READ!!!By Dr. Oki
