This is really a pretty good book. It seems to be helping overall with my comprehension of the subject, but the material is very dense. I don't think anyone should really expect to retain too much on the first go around, but using the review questions near at the end of each chapter really helped with the pathology class, and the testing for that class.

Behind Rapid Review Pathology (Goljan) this was my favorite book during my second year of medical school. I used to read Robbins basic pathology religiously, but realistically that book is not well suited for medical school. The Robbins series has way too much detail about the pathogenesis and histo-path and not enough detail about the clinical presentation. I like this book because it is a brief read and by the end of each chapter you will really be able to paint a picture in your head about how a patient with a specific disease will present. The schematics are great! If you are using Rapid Review Pathology, then you should consider this book a must read companion text. Dr. Damjanov has copyrights on many of the gross path images and you will see many of them in Goljan's text (Goljan even thanks him in the preface of Rapid Review Path). After reading this book you can really tell how pathology can be so different if it is taught from a clinical standpoint. I highly recommend this book, especially when used with Rapid Review Pathology.
