About the Author
Patricia Kelly is a professor emerita at Purdue University Calumet. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in nursing from DePaul University and a Master's Degree from Loyola University in Chicago. She has taught conferences for the Joint Commission and was the director of quality improvement at the University of Chicago Hospitals and Clinics. She has also authored numerous textbooks and journal articles. She continues to work as a part-time staff nurse in the emergency department and is an active Red Cross disaster relief volunteer.
Janice Tazbir is a Professor of Nursing at Purdue University Calumet. She holds a Master's Degree in Nursing and has worked in critical care for the majority of her career. In addition to teaching, she currently works in critical care at the University of Chicago Hospitals. Over the course of her career, she has received multiple awards and published numerous refereed articles and book chapters. She has also authored several textbooks and is currently a member of many professional organizations.
