Eh, this book isn't worth the money in my opinion. There are typos and grammar mistakes, and there are content mistakes so bad that I can't figure out what the book is saying. I'm about to take my exit HESI and NCLEX, and I'm using this book + the Saunders review book and the "Illustrated Study Guide for NCLEX RN." This book is really very sparse in terms of content. It's only about 370 pages, has no CD with practice questions, and I'm finding a lot of discrepancies with content between this and my Black/Hawkes med surg textbook (which is also published by Elsevier). This is a good supplement text if you want to do a 15 minute review of a system with charts and very basic meds, but I'd never recommend it as the only thing to study from. There's just not enough in here and what is here has too many mistakes and typos.

Example of content mistake:
p. 106, the HESI hint box: "In mitral valve stenosis, blood is regurgitated back into the left atrium from the left ventricle..."
(That's not mitral valve stenosis. That's mitral valve regurgitation or insufficiency. Stenosis means the valve isn't opening all the way/is "stenosed" or partially closed, impeding the FORWARD flow of blood from the left atrium to the left ventricle. The fact that they use the word "regurgitation" is a clue...)

This review book is the best book to study for the Hesi exams as well as the NCLEX. It is all you'll need for the Hesi exams. There is no fluff, just pertinent information was well as highlighted boxes to alert you to areas the NCLEX has focused on in the past.

I learned about it after I had taken the first Hesi exam and wish I had known about it before I took the test. After that I used it to study for all the Hesi exams except the dosage calculation test. I scored nearly perfect scores on all the Hesi's and a perfect score on the Maternity/Pediatric exam.

It was one of three review books I relied on for the NCLEX preparation. My test cut off at 75 questions and I passed. It doesn't get better than that. The other book that was essential for NCLEX preparation is Prioritization, Delegation, and Assignment: Practice Exercises for the NCLEX Examination, 2e by Linda A. LaCharity (Paperback - Jan 27, 2010) Many of the questions were about prioritizing, delegating and assigning.
