This book is very well setup.By Anthony Bell
The book starts out with a basic overview of the career field, which is a good bit of info for someone who wants to learn more about the career field but probably isn't why you are looking into buying this book.
The next chapter goes into detail about how to use the book. The best part is that they tell you how to make a schedule that best utilizes your study time depending on how far out you are from your test. This chapter also gives you tips on how to mechanically score better on the test.
Chapter three gives you a pre test to determine your strengths and weaknesses as a baseline before studying (100 questions).
Then the book breaks the chapters into separate categories, each with a short quiz after completion (50 questions). Sections include; Pharmacology, Surgical Preparation and Assisting, Dentistry, Laboratory Procedures 1, Laboratory Procedures 2, Animal Care and Nursing, Diagnostic Imaging, and Anesthesia and Analgesia.
The last chapter is a Post test to see how well you have improved (100 questions).
The only reason I gave this 4/5 stars is because they talk about free access to an instantly scored online practice exam. There are instructions in the back of the book that explain how and to whom you should email for the code. It took about a month for them to send me an email response back and instead of giving me an online code like the book said it would, they gave me only a link to a website that says the code is in my book somewhere. I called customer support and wasted the rest of my monthly minutes on hold.
UPDATED: I finally got a hold of customer service and they told me that they do not have the codes themselves and that they would email it to me when they received them. This would be fine if I didn't take the actual exam in two days...
