Given that pathology residents have very little material for board review it was nice to see a new book come out. Unfortunately this book suffers from several flaws. The main one is the book is primarily written as "except" questions. All of the following are true except, a mode of question which the boards are getting away from, and on CP have already dropped. Although these questions are easier to write, they will not be as useful for board prep. In addition the answer key has plenty of mistakes, wrong answers listed etc. One I just read was "Neural tube defects may be caused by a variety of abnormalities including hypothermia." a few lines later..."Hypothermia is not known to be associated with neural tube defects".

If you can look past the errors or some of the questions I think the book offers some good high yield facts, and the image quality is vastly superior to that other AP question book out there.

Anatomic pathology board review, a really comprehensive book that gives really well explanations for the answers, lots of good high-yield pictures too, is definitely recommended for anyone preparing for boards. the kindle version is easy to use and you can go directly to the answer by clicking on the question without the need to flip from one page to another.
